Blue Claws Jolt Cyclones with Late Rally
|
The Baltimore Blue Claws beat the Coney Island Cyclones, 4-1, at Old Bay Park. The win was largely due to the efforts of third baseman Justin Bishop, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 doubles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Getting the save was Ramón Martínez, his 6th. The Blue Claws, now 21-10, have been on a roll in the early going.
Armando Espinoza found himself in a pressure situation in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Coney Island hurler Jalen DePass, the 20-year-old shortstop reached on an error by the 1B, driving in 1 run. His 17th RBI of the season put the Blue Claws on top, 2-1.
"We did a lot of things right," said Espinoza.
