Shade Pull Back to .500 With Win Over Warriors

The Stroudsburg Shade beat the Winfield Warriors, 6-2, at The Barn. The win was largely due to the efforts of third baseman Juan Hernández, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Stroudsburg starter Vicente Morán was credited with the win after throwing 89 pitches over 5 innings. His record now stands at 2-2. Ted Thian sewed up the save, his 5th.
An important at-bat for Stroudsburg came with one out in the top of the second. With runners on 1st and 3rd, Hernández hit a run-scoring double, which contributed to the Shade win.
"I've been criticized for being a slacker, but the one thing I do care about is winning," Hernández told the Stroudsburg Gazette.
With the loss, Winfield is 14-14.
