Bloodhounds Continue Skid Thanks to Varn, Pelicans
|
Zach Varn made an impact in the 4-1 St. Petersburg win over Boise. Varn went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Earning his 5th save of the year was Junichiro Kobayashi. With the loss, Boise drops to 9-22.
Varn came through for St. Petersburg with a 2-run home run in the top of the first. He hit a 1-1 sinker to left-center field, staking his team to a 2-0 lead.
"We're in a funk right now," said Boise skipper Nick Brown.
