Frosties Win Streak Reaches 6
|
The Barrow Frosties turned back the Kingwood Knights, 5-4, at Stable Park. Harlan Sanderson was named player of the game for his fine performance. He was 3 for 5 with 3 singles, while scoring 2 times. Mauro Rodríguez, who went 5.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 4 runs on 7 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 7. His record now stands at 1-0. The save was credited to Juan Salinas, his 3rd.
In the top of the second with one out, the Frosties were let down by their defense. With Barrow leading 2-0, Sanderson hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It could have been more costly, but the Frosties were able to get the win.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Kingwood manager Barry Bowman. "The effort was great."
Barrow, now 18-11, has played well in the early going.
