Victoria right-hander Iemitsu Shiroi helped his team edge Houston by the score of 2-1. Shiroi kept the opposing lineup in check. Shiroi went 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 6. His record improves to 2-2. Gang Niu was called on to finish, recording his 8th save.
Cody Jones took Akinori Ohayashi deep in the bottom of the second. His 2-run home run put the Vikings in front, 2-0. For the game, Jones was 2 for 3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"That's baseball," said Houston manager Héctor Flores. "You're not always going to be hitting on all cylinders."
The Sting fall to 10-18 and continue their uneven start to the 2032 season.
