Bums Pin 4-0 Loss on Saints
|
The Palm Beach Bums and St. Paul Saints completed their game despite the inclement weather.
Danny Loftis pitched a gem to lead Palm Beach to a 4-0 victory over the St. Paul Saints. Loftis, now 2-2, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing no earned runs. Earning his 2nd save of the year was Eddy Aguilar.
The Saints had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Bums going into the top of the third inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old right fielder Augusto Murillo came to the plate. Murillo hit a run-scoring double on a first pitch slider from St. Paul hurler Eichiro Tanaka. It was Murillo's 2nd double of the year.
"You win some, you lose some. I don't get too caught up in all that," said Murillo.
With the win, Palm Beach boosts its record to 13-15.
