Hornets Get One-Run Win at Nichols
In a close game at The Pond, the Bethesda Hornets edged the Nichols Gnats, 4-3. Bethesda shortstop Sean Witter earned the nod as player of the game. He went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. Francisco Vargo, the winner, improved to 2-1. He held Nichols to 2 earned runs on 6 hits over 6.1 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts. The loss drops Nichols to 9-20.
