Extra-Inning Walk-Off Win for Hornets
|
The Bethesda Hornets downed the Charleston Panthers, 8-5, in 10 innings. Bill Ottinger led the way, going 1-for-2 for Bethesda. Bethesda reliever Hiroshi Nagasawa was the winner. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Ronnie Kimble. The win leaves Bethesda with a record of 15-13.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With no one out, Ottinger hit a fastball from Ronnie Kimble for a 3-run home run. The Hornets, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," Ottinger said.
