Black Squirrels Take Down Pelicans, 12-5
|
The Tree City Black Squirrels defeated the St. Petersburg Pelicans, 12-5, at The Nut House. Tree City left fielder Dennis Perry was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 2-2 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The loss drops St. Petersburg to 10-14.
Aruba-born Shalom Oosterman came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the third, with the bases loaded and the Black Squirrels trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run double to right to put Tree City on top.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Tree City manager James Lee.
