Thrilling Walk-Off Win for Cyclones
|
The Coney Island Cyclones stopped the New Orleans Jedi Knights, 9-8, at Coney Island Coliseum. The Cyclones got a big game from Masato Takagi, who went 4 for 4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Losses have been rare for the Jedi Knights, who are now 17-7.
Shoya Wada drew 1 walk in 2 plate appearances for Coney Island. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, Wada, who is tied for 4th in the BOL in triples with 1, had a clutch at-bat. Facing New Orleans hurler Hao Yuen, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run to give the Cyclones a 9-8 lead.
"It's great to get the crowd pumped up," Wada said.
