River Chiefs Win, Stewart goes 4-for-4
|
The Chippewa River Chiefs beat the San Angelo Mustangs, 6-5 at Heartland Kettlecorn Stadium, in part due to catcher Norm Stewart, who nabbed player of the game honors. He was 4-4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The defending champion River Chiefs have struggled a bit to find their groove this season, but improve to 12-11 with the win.
Terry Richardson did his part for the River Chiefs, producing a 2-run double in the top of the first inning. For the game, the shortstop was 2 for 4 with a double and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI.
