Sting Trounce Frosties, 10-0
|
Houston starter Javier Martínez kept the Barrow hitters in check, while his team cruised to a 10-0 win. Daniel Avery picked up the save, his 1st. The win brings the Sting to 10-13, a soft start for a team that made the playoffs just last season.
The Sting got an important contribution from first baseman Jeff Dotson, who in the top of the fifth stroked a 1-2 fastball into right-center for a run-scoring triple. It was his 2nd triple of the season and put the Sting ahead, 3-0.
"I'm a bit of a clubhouse prankster," said Dotson. "But it's all business when we're on the field."
