Warriors Get Close Win Over Blue Claws
The Winfield Warriors downed the Baltimore Blue Claws, 5-2, at Old Bay Park. Miguel Reyes led the way, going 1-for-2 for Winfield. Willard Stady picked up the save, his 2nd. The Warriors raised their record to 12-8.

In a game filled with surprises, perhaps none was as big as Reyes's contribution. The Winfield designated hitter is a relative newcomer. With one out in the top of the eighth, when the Warriors had runners on 1st and 2nd, Reyes delivered a crucial 3-run home run.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Winfield skipper Eric Stone.
