The Palm Beach Bums beat the Tree City Black Squirrels, 4-3 at The Nut House, in part due to designated hitter Yoshimochi Takahashi, who nabbed player of the game honors. He went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win was Eddy Aguilar's in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Chion Hatanaka took the loss for Tree City. The Black Squirrels, now 11-11, continue their sluggish start.

Takahashi had an impressive at-bat with the game on the line. In the top of the eighth, with a runner on 2nd, he hit a 1-1 cutter from Chion Hatanaka for a 2-run home run. Just like that, the Bums took the lead, 4-3.

"You come to the ballpark to do your job and that's what I did today," Takahashi told the Palm Beach Bulletin.
