Late Rally by Bush Wackers Secures Win
|
The Bush Wackers faced a stiff challenge from Eugene pitcher Roberto Delaluz, but persevered to claim a win at Baylor Ballpark. The final score was 5-2. Delaluz went 6 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Esteban Montes, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. Danny Posada nailed down his 3rd save.
John Pinnock provided some late-game heroics for Brisbane. In the bottom of the eighth inning, he hit a run-scoring single. It came on a 2-2 fastball from Ángel Velázquez and propelled Brisbane to a 3-2 lead.
"There are times you get yourself out and there are times you come through," Pinnock said. "That's how it goes."
The Bush Wackers, now 14-5, have been on fire in the early going.
