Black Squirrels Get Close Win Over Bums

Tree City withstood an impressive performance by Palm Beach catcher Bartolo Muñíz to defeat the Bums, 8-5, at The Nut House. Muñíz was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Tree City reliever Chion Hatanaka picked up the win to move to 1-1. Takeo Tsuchiya suffered the loss. Palm Beach, at 5-14, is off to a poor start in 2032.
The game was at a stalemate until center fielder James Bell came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Palm Beach pitcher Daniel White, he hit a 2-1 slider for a bases-clearing double. It was a game-changer, putting Tree City on top, 8-5.
"It feels good to get this one," Bell told the Tree City Daily.
