The Houston Sting powered past the West Virginia Dancin' Outlaws, 8-3, at Woodland Park. Francisco Enriquez went 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once, to lead the charge. Dane Manwaring earned the win for Houston. He lasted 5 innings, allowing 1 earned run on 2 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 1-0. The win brings the Sting to 8-11, a soft start for a team that made the playoffs just last season.

An important at-bat for Houston came with two out in the bottom of the fourth. With the bases loaded, Enriquez hit a grand slam, which contributed to the Sting win.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Enriquez told reporters after the game.
