In a tight game between the New Orleans Jedi Knights and the St. Paul Saints, pitcher Douggie Gimson was terrific on the mound. The New Orleans right-hander was named the player of the game in New Orleans's 3-1 win. Gimson went 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 4, and struck out 9. His record improves to 1-0. Rich Owen earned the save for New Orleans, his 3rd.

In the bottom of the third inning, the Jedi Knights grabbed the lead when Jacob Runk rapped a two-out home run. New Orleans was trailing 1-0, when Runk hit a 2-run home run off Ian Portz to put his team in front, 2-1.

"I like our mindset right now," said New Orleans manager Mason Eilers.

The Jedi Knights, now 14-4, have been red hot.
