5 Straight Wins for River Chiefs

Chippewa and Nichols duked it out at The Reservation and the River Chiefs came out victorious.
Nick Copeland pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Nichols Gnats, despite Copeland's fine outing, dropped a 3-0 decision to the Chippewa River Chiefs at The Reservation. The win was Cisco Cantú's in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Nick Copeland took the loss for Nichols. Brad Ide recorded his 4th save for Chippewa.
Also making an impact was third baseman Chris Reddy, who drilled a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth inning for the River Chiefs. For the game, Reddy was 1 for 4 with a home run.
"This team is real focused right now," said Chippewa manager Bruce Leah.
The River Chiefs are off to an underwhelming start as they look to defend their championship, notching only their 7th win in 17 games.
