Tight Tilt Goes to Black Squirrels, 4-3
|
The Tree City Black Squirrels racked up a win at Baylor Ballpark, bumping off the Brisbane Bush Wackers, 4-3. Ryan Davis, who started for Tree City, pitched effectively for his team. Davis went 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 3, and struck out 8. His record improves to 1-1. Losses have been few and far between for the Bush Wackers, who are now 12-4.
William Banks took Orlando Garza deep with two out in the top of the fourth. On a first pitch fastball, Banks drilled a 3-run home run to left. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put Tree City on top, 3-0.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Brisbane manager Pete Barrett. "The effort was great."
