Blue Claws Shut Out Panthers
|
In a tight game between the Charleston Panthers and the Baltimore Blue Claws, nobody was more important for the winners than Armando Espinoza. Espinoza, who received player of the game accolades for the Blue Claws, was masterful in the 2-0 win. The win was credited to Mauricio Ayala in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Freddy Aguilar took the loss. The Blue Claws, now 9-2, have had a terrific start to the season.
In the bottom of the sixth inning of a 0-0 tie, Baltimore catcher Graham Armstrong hit a sacrifice fly. It broke the deadlock and put Baltimore on top, 1-0.
"We didn't score," said losing manager Ánibal Machado. "That was the problem."
