New Orleans Hot Streak Continues with 5-0 Win
|
The New Orleans Jedi Knights went home winners at The Republic, thanks in large part to starter Jesús Espinosa. Espinosa silenced the Boise Bloodhounds, enabling New Orleans to grab the 5-0 win. Katsutaro Nishikawa closed the game out for New Orleans, earning his 1st save. The Jedi Knights, now 9-1, have had a terrific start to the season.
Tied up with the Bloodhounds in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Jedi Knights got a boost from left fielder John Carruthers. With the bases loaded, Carruthers saw a 0-1 sinker from Jason Loer and hit a bases-clearing triple to break the stalemate and put New Orleans on top, 3-0.
"It's great to be on a roll," said Espinosa.
