Benefiting from Boyd Adler's productive game, the San Angelo Mustangs downed the Winfield Warriors, 7-3. Adler was 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs for the Mustangs. With the win, San Angelo elevates its record to 3-4.
Allen Heisterkamp delivered for San Angelo in the top of the sixth. His 3-run home run off Winfield pitcher Scott Ray put San Angelo in front, 5-2.
In comments to the San Angelo Gazette, Heisterkamp admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
