New Orleans Makes It 7 Straight with 7-5 Win
|
New Orleans shortstop José Pérez was instrumental in his team's 7-5 win over the Boise Bloodhounds. Pérez went 3-5 with 3 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Jedi Knights. Reliever Hao Yuen picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Pete Tupper took the loss. New Orleans, now 8-1, is playing great baseball to start the year.
New Orleans won the game in the bottom of the ninth inning. With two outs and Pete Tupper on the mound for Boise, first baseman Ivan Nunez hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Jedi Knights fans to their feet.
"Nervous? No," said Pérez. "It was my time to shine."
