Westside played host to Tree City at the friendly confines of Road Warriors Field.

Riding the 1-hit performance of the 21-year old first baseman John Corkum, the Westside Road Warriors stopped the Tree City Black Squirrels, 7-0. Westside reliever Chris Bacon was the winner. His record is now 3-0. Bob Galloway took the loss.

Corkum contributed when he hit a grand slam in the bottom of the seventh. Coming with one out and the bases loaded, the home run proved to be critical to helping Westside get the win.

In comments to the Westside Bulletin, Corkum admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."

With the loss, Tree City is 4-3.
