Bush Wackers Stay Hot, Beat Pelicans
|
The Brisbane Bush Wackers got a magnificent performance from pitcher Grant Huffman, who muffled the St. Petersburg offense en route to a tight 2-1 Bush Wackers win at Baylor Ballpark. Huffman went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 2, and struck out 7. His record improves to 2-0. Danny Posada picked up the save for Brisbane, his 1st of the year.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 3rd and one out in the bottom of the fourth inning. That's when second baseman Hyeon-san Chong hit a sacrifice fly. The Bush Wackers went on to win.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," St. Petersburg manager Clement Snow said following the tough loss.
Brisbane, at 5-1, has sizzled in the early going.
