The Emeralds grabbed a win, 6-3, at The Nut House, overcoming a fine effort from Tree City pitcher Jun Zhou. Zhou went 6 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Losses have been few and far between for the Black Squirrels so far this season. Their record drops to 4-2.

The most important at-bat for Eugene came in the top of the tenth inning, when pinch hitter Fred Gagg stroked a 0-2 curveball to center for a 2-run single, putting Eugene up, 5-3.

"We busted our humps out there," said Gagg.
