Bel Air got a terrific game from third baseman Mike Flowers. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Houston, 6-5. Flowers was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. José Toro picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Lee Krause was tagged with the loss. The loss drops Bel Air to 1-4.

John Thompson found himself in a pressure situation in the top of the 11th. Facing Bel Air hurler Lee Krause, the 19-year-old third baseman hit a sacrifice fly. His 1st RBI of the season put the Sting on top, 6-5.

"I get a nice buzz from a win like this one," said Thompson.
