Road Warriors Saddle Hornets with 7-2 Loss
|
The Westside Road Warriors stymied the Bethesda Hornets, 7-2, at Road Warriors Field. Atsuhiro Matsuyama, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He went 3-4 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Westside. Westside reliever Chris Bacon was the winner. His record is now 2-0. Jung-hoon Pak took the loss. The Road Warriors, now 2-1, have played some good baseball in the early going.
Westside third baseman Li-xue Liu helped the Road Warriors to the win. In the bottom of the third inning, the 22-year old third baseman stroked a run-scoring single. For the game, Liu went 2-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"I thought we played a nice game," Matsuyama told the Westside Bulletin. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
