The exploits of designated hitter Kaden Harris helped the Baltimore Blue Claws defeat the Coney Island Cyclones, 8-2. Harris hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Luis Carranza, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 4.2 innings. Losses have been few and far between for the Cyclones, who are now 3-1.
The Blue Claws beat the Cyclones with some clutch hitting. The home run by Adam Downing in the bottom of the second is a good example. With two down, Downing gave his team the lead, 2-0, when he came through with the big hit.
"We'll enjoy this win for now, but it's just one," Harris told local reporters. "We've got to keep it going."
