Heisterkamp Goes Wild, But Bloodhounds Win
|
The San Angelo Mustangs got a superb performance from left fielder Allen Heisterkamp, but the Boise Bloodhounds still won the game, 7-6. Heisterkamp was named the player of the game despite the loss. He was 3-3 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Frank Clark got the win, improving to 1-0. He held the Mustangs to 4 earned runs on 5 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 2 and walking 3. With the win, Boise goes to 1-1.
In the top of the sixth inning, center fielder Jim Bailey had a key at-bat for the Bloodhounds. With Boise leading 5-4, he banged a 2-run home run.
