Dancin' Outlaws Win at Brisbane, 5-2
|
Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Brisbane Bush Wackers home opener. Camilo Pascual started for the home team against Kyuji Aoki for the West Virginia Dancin' Outlaws. The Bush Wackers were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 5-2, West Virginia. Jesus Escamilla was named player of the game. West Virginia reliever Takeo Takano picked up the win to move to 1-0. Camilo Pascual suffered the loss.
It could have been a different outcome for West Virginia, had it not been for Joe Thorington, the 21-year old center fielder . Thorington contributed a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning to put West Virginia up, 4-2.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Escamilla told the West Virginia Herald.
