Hornets Shut Out Black Squirrels

The 2032 season did not get off to quite the start the Tree City Black Squirrels had hoped, with an opening day loss to the Bethesda Hornets at The Nut House. The final score was 2-0. Starting Pitcher Luis Ramírez was named player of the game for Bethesda. The winning pitcher was Ramírez, now 1-0. He tossed 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 5. Earning his 1st save for Bethesda was Hiroshi Nagasawa.
Jesús Faundez helped out the Bethesda cause in the top of the eighth inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the pinch hitter went 1-1 with a double.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Ramírez said.
