Enforcers Fall Short, 3-2, at Marysville
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Marysville Monarchs and the Atlantic City Enforcers, Phil Lovelace was the difference-maker. The Marysville right-hander earned player of the game honors in the 3-2 win. Lovelace, the winner, moves to 7-4. He threw 5.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 1 walk. The Monarchs go to 87-71, putting them third in the Cory Lidle League Gene Mauch Division.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, António Ayala contributed a big hit for the Monarchs. With Marysville leading 2-1, he hammered a solo home run.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Atlantic City manager Juan Guerrero.
