Monarchs Get 5-2 Win Versus Pacifica
The Marysville Monarchs got a good effort from starter Vincente Cerni in defeating the Pacifica Shamrocks at McCormick Field. The final score was 5-2. Marysville reliever Jim Unknown picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Bernard Coste took the loss. The Monarchs bumped their record to 86-71 with this latest triumph.

Neither team could produce runs. So, George Cromsie's at-bat in the top of the ninth was critical. With one out, the Marysville pinch hitter hit a 2-run double, to give his team a 4-2 lead.

"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Cerni.
