Rats Suffer 12-1 Drubbing
|
The Spokane Bulldogs buried the Rock River Rats, 12-1, under a barrage of hits. Luis Reyes led the onslaught, going 4-for-4 for Spokane. António Días, the winner, improved to 7-9. He held Rock River to 1 earned run on 5 hits over 5.1 innings, while racking up 7 strikeouts. Earning his 2nd save for Spokane was Perry Detrick.
One significant at-bat for Spokane came with the bases loaded in the bottom of the third. Bulldogs first baseman Itsuka Arakaki grounded out, driving in 1 run, which helped Spokane go on to win.
"They took us to the woodshed," said Rock River manager Hervé Barthélémy.
With the win, Spokane goes to 81-75, while the Rats fall to 101-54.
