Ninjas Get One-Run Win at Long Island
The New York Ninjas downed the Long Island Ducks, 7-6, at Long Island Stadium. The Ninjas were led by Dave Calderon, who captured player of the game honors. He slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Lourenço Russa picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 6-15. Kenji Ito was tagged with the loss. New York is now 73-82, Long Island 66-90.

Had Calderon not come through in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have changed. Instead, with two down, Calderon hit a 2-run home run. The Ninjas never looked back after taking the 7-5 lead.

"We found a way to get it done," Calderon said.
