The Sandy Springs Spartans went down to defeat to Alan Gorringe and his DeKalb teammates. The final score was 7-2 in favor of the Cornhuskers. The second-place Cornhuskers now have a win-loss record of 88-67.

Chris Bramel brought the hometown crowd to its feet with two out in the bottom of the second. That's when the 21-year old second baseman belted a 3-run home run. With the round-tripper, the Cornhuskers took the lead, 3-0.

"I still think this team has room for improvement," Gorringe told the DeKalb Observer.
