The home squad pulled out a thrilling walk-off win at UFO Field today.
Though he had a great game, Juan Sánchez could not single-handedly produce a win for Buzzard's Bay. Phoenix won the game, 3-2. Sánchez was named the player of the game. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Phoenix reliever Robert Limby, now 5-4. The loser was Bernardino Pacheco.
Coming to the plate with no one out in the bottom of the ninth inning, Phoenix center fielder Michael Pickersgill had a chance to be the hero. Facing Buzzard's Bay pitcher Bernardino Pacheco with the bases loaded, Pickersgill hit a walk-off run-scoring single.
Pickersgill told the media after that game that the mood in the clubhouse is "extremely positive" after a win like that.
Phoenix now has a 3-game win streak.
