Getting an impressive start from Neil Coffin, Long Island beat DeKalb by the score of 4-2. Coffin went 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 4, and struck out 7. His record improves to 1-0. Yasukazu Kouda, credited with the save, is now 6 for 8 in save opportunities.
Yoshitoki Kitamura didn't waste any time giving his team the lead. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run home run to put Long Island on top, 2-0.
