|
Wichita rode a decent outing from starter Oscar Mata to victory over the Cincinnati Snaps at Howling Park. The final score was 10-5. The Wolverines now have a record of 76-75 with the win over Cincinnati.
Wichita took the lead in the bottom of the first on a big hit from Willis Pierce. On a first pitch cutter from Alex Alvarez, Pierce hit a run-scoring single. That made it 1-0, Wolverines. For the day, Pierce was 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"We think we're a good team overall, so we're not too surprised to win today," said Mata.
