Brown, Rats Humble Cornhuskers

The first-place Rock River Rats took on the DeKalb Cornhuskers at The Rat Hole.
The Rock River Rats buried the DeKalb Cornhuskers, 12-1, under a barrage of hits. Elijah Brown led the onslaught, going 3-for-4 for Rock River. Gonzalo Ramírez, the winner, improved to 2-0. He held DeKalb to 1 earned run on 6 hits over 6.1 innings, while racking up 7 strikeouts.
Scott McFarland provided some punch for the Rats. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd and Rock River trailing 1-0, he lit into a fastball from Morihiro Hashimoto, sending it out of the park. The 3-run homer put the Rats up, 3-1.
"What we get, we earn," Brown told the Rock River Daily News.
The first-place Rats have their sights set on making a deep playoff run.
