The Eureka Hornets got a good effort from starter Barend Bilderbeek in defeating the New York Mafia at The Nest. The final score was 3-2. Ashoka Pancholi locked down his 13th save. The Mafia have now dropped 5 straight.
Odalis Sánchez in the bottom of the eighth had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and the Hornets leading 2-1, the Eureka right fielder hit a sacrifice fly.
"That's baseball," said New York manager Roberto Campos. "You're not always going to be hitting on all cylinders."
