Tune-Ups Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras
|
The Youngstown Tune-Ups wiggled past the Frisco Rams, 4-3, at Outlander Park. Youngstown pitcher Luis Vásquez earned player of the game honors. Bunjiro Kodama got credit for the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. Yu-xing Law picked up the save for Youngstown, his 1st of the year.
Micah Lee changed the game with one swing of the bat. With one out in the top of the 11th, the Youngstown catcher hammered a solo home run off Moos Teunisse. It was his 20th home run of the season. With it, Youngstown took the lead, 4-3.
"There's no quit in this team," said Tune-Ups manager Jacob Gaines.
The Tune-Ups go to 82-67, putting them second in the Cory Lidle League Lou Piniella League.
