Hellcats Overcome Great Performance by Chavez in Win
|
Despite a great performance by Atlantic City left fielder Jesus Chavez, the Jacksonville Hellcats defeated the Enforcers by the score of 8-6 at Hellcats Park. Chavez was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. Alberto García was the winner. Over 7.1 innings, he allowed 5 runs on 8 hits, with no walks and 2 strikeouts. Noriaki Ine converted his 11th save in 14 tries.
Kichisaburo Miyake chipped in for Jacksonville, stroking a crucial 2-run double in the bottom of the third inning. For the game, the catcher went 2 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"Winning never gets old," said Miyake.
Atlantic City now has a 5-game losing streak.
