Nakashima Helps Rats Run Win Streak to 3
The Rock River Rats beat the Topeka Predators, 11-7, at The Field at Richmond. The Rats got a fine performance from third baseman Nobuatsu Nakashima, who captured player of the game honors. He slugged 2 home runs, while scoring 4 times and driving in 6. Ramelan Kathirithamby, credited with the win, is now 4-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. The first-place Rats have their sights set on making a deep playoff run.

The most crucial at-bat for Rock River came in the top of the ninth inning. That's when Nakashima stroked a 2-1 fastball to left for a grand slam home run, putting Rock River up, 10-7.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Nakashima told the Rock River Daily News.
