Hackers Take Down Beetlecats, 3-1
|
In a well-pitched game between the Silicon Valley Hackers and the Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats, pitcher Jim Unknown was fantastic. The Silicon Valley right-hander was named the player of the game in Silicon Valley's 3-1 win. Silicon Valley occupies last place in the Cory Lidle League Lou Piniella League at 58-89.
Silicon Valley second baseman Edgardo Rodríguez gave his club a productive at-bat in the bottom of the fifth inning. With runners on 1st and 3rd and the Hackers trailing 1-0, Rodríguez grounded out, driving in 1 run.
"This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents," Unknown told the Silicon Valley News. "Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."
