The Boise Hawks downed the Newark Jail Birds, 5-2, at Cobras Ballpark. Luke Riviere led the way, going 3-for-4 for Boise. Boise now owns a record of 78-67.
Daiki Nakamura in the top of the eighth had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and the Hawks leading 3-2, the Boise right fielder hit a 2-run double.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Riviere said after the game.
