Storm Troopers Pick Up 7-1 Win
|
The San Antonio Storm Troopers stymied the DeKalb Cornhuskers, 7-1, at The Clone Army. Francisco González, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He was 3-4 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for San Antonio. San Antonio reliever Romain Quere was the winner. His record is now 4-3. Masuhiro Miyazaki took the loss. En-guo Guan sewed up the save, his 2nd.
In the bottom of the first inning, first baseman Jorge García came through big-time for the Storm Troopers. With San Antonio leading 1-0, he belted a 2-run home run.
"I just love going out and having a big game," González said when asked about being named player of the game. "It's an honor to have your talents recognized."
San Antonio now has a 3-game win streak.
