Armada Lose to Texans, 5-3
|
Fans at Lucky 7 Ballpark were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Quebec Armada take on the Dallas Texans.
Dallas Texans starter Benjamin Piece pitched a strong game against the Quebec Armada at Lucky 7 Ballpark, leading the Texans to a 5-3 win. The winning pitcher was Piece, now 6-1. He tossed 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 2. Adrien Clément locked down his 17th save.
There were several reasons the Texans beat the Armada, but one factor was Tsunayoshi Ito. In the top of the seventh, the Dallas right fielder came to bat and hit a 2-run double. It staked his team to a 5-3 lead.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Ito, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
Dallas has now won 3 in a row.
